Ascension of Baha’u’llah

A solitary China rose (Rosa chinensis) seems fitting on the occasion of this Holy Day:

The graphic, “Unfoldment of the Bahá’í Faith,” in yesterday’s “Daily Log” illustrated timeline segments for the first and second completed epochs the “Tablets of the Divine Plan” and start of the third. The second epoch began under the auspices of the recently elected and seated Universal House of Justice with the launch of the first Nine Year Plan—nearly six decades before the second Nine Year Plan just getting underway this year. The following two slides map the s-curves associated with the change management process along the timeline of the second epoch as it proceeds from one Plan to the next. The slide below shows the time period between 1964 to the Holy Year 1992-1993:

The second slide below continues from the Holy Year to current:

These two provide more visibility into ebb and flow cycles of expansion and consolidation coupled with reflection and planning over time as represented by the s-curves. They also establish a framework across time that allows me to organize and make public — box by box, file by file — the social change initiatives I designed and implemented over the course of my 35-year career in strategic framing and organization design. My goal is to have it DONE by the end of this year. It won’t be easy but nothing worth doing ever is!

The divine Manifestations have been iconoclastic in Their teachings, uprooting error, destroying false religious beliefs and summoning mankind anew to the fundamental oneness of God. All of Them have, likewise, proclaimed the oneness of the world of humanity. The essential teaching of Moses was the law of Sinai, the Ten Commandments. Christ renewed and again revealed the commands of the one God and precepts of human action. In Muḥammad, although the circle was wider, the intention of His teaching was likewise to uplift and unify humanity in the knowledge of the one God. In the Báb the circle was again very much enlarged, but the essential teaching was the same. The Books of Bahá’u’lláh number more than one hundred. Each one is an evident proof sufficient for mankind; each one from foundation to apex proclaims the essential unity of God and humanity, the love of God, the abolition of war and the divine standard of peace. Each one also inculcates divine morality, the manifestation of lordly graces—in every word a book of meanings. For the Word of God is collective wisdom, absolute knowledge and eternal truth. 1
