Late Afternoon Sky

Done

Raked leaves—I’m going to drag this out over several days so I have an excuse to be outdoors when the weather’s pleasant and not spend all day sitting in front of the computer.

My life partner and I cooked up a couple of adaptations of old favorites for tonight’s supper: a double batch of Maggi’s Schichtkohl mit Hackfleisch followed by a Duncan Hines Classic Butter Golden cake with brown sugar and cinnamon swirl in the middle and topped with Duncan Hines Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting.

Not as tasty as made from scratch, but it’s definitely less hassle!

Quoted

True knowledge, therefore, is the knowledge of God, and this is none other than the recognition of His Manifestation in each Dispensation. Nor is there any wealth save in poverty in all save God and sanctity from aught else but Him—a state that can be realized only when demonstrated towards Him Who is the Dayspring of His Revelation. This doth not mean, however, that one ought not to yield praise unto former Revelations. On no account is this acceptable, inasmuch as it behooveth man, upon reaching the age of nineteen, to render thanksgiving for the day of his conception as an embryo. For had the embryo not existed, how could he have reached his present state? Likewise had the religion taught by Adam not existed, this Faith would not have attained its present stage. Thus consider thou the development of God’s Faith until the end that hath no end. 1

My sister and brother-in-law recently relocated and chose to donate several books in their library rather than move them. Many of these volumes are not well-known, but due to the topics they cover and the manner in which their authors explore them, they warrant a nod of recognition before being sent on their way. Accordingly, most quotes referenced in the “Quoted” section come from these books. Maybe they will stir (or renew) your interest, too.
